Inserting Symbols

You can use the Insert Symbol feature in the CNOWv2 Question Editor to include special characters in your self-authored questions.

To insert a special character
  1. 1. Place your cursor in the location where you wish to insert a special character.
  2. 2. Click the Insert Symbol icon in the Question Editor.

    3. The Insert Symbol pane will open.

  3. 3. Select the appropriate character and a preview window to the right provides an enlarged view.
  4. 4. Click the character to insert it at your cursor's location.
To use a NUM-Code
  1. 1. Place your cursor in the location for the special character.
  2. 2. Activate the numeric key pad on the right of the keyboard by pressing Num Lock (upper right of keyboard).
  3. 3. While pressing down the ALT-key, type the four-digit code on the numeric key pad at the right edge of the keyboard.
