Inserting Popups
You can use the Insert Popup feature in the CNOWv2 Question Editor to create a hyperlink in the body of your self-authored question that provides a relevant message for your students.
To insert a Popup or Hotspot
- 1. Highlight the section of text you would like to use as the link for your popup message.
- 2. Click the Insert Popup icon in the Question Editor to open the Insert Popup window.
- 3. Select the type of choice of field to display your message:
- ° Hotspot. Supplies your message when the linked text is moused over. The message box disappears when the cursor leaves the linked text.
- ° Popup. Provides a message window that persists when the cursor is moved away from the linked text. The window can be moved to different areas of the question field. Students close the window by clicking an "X" in the right hand corner.
- 4. (Optional) Use the Question Editor Toolbar to include a table, image, special characters, or math formulae.
- 5. (Optional) Apply text formatting by using the editor on the Format tab.
- 6. (Optional) Enter a value for a custom Width or Height to accommodate larger objects such as tables or images.
- 7. (Optional) Check the box for Duplicate to insert the information from Popup windows in the body of the field. The Popup will display normally.
- 8. Click Save in the Insert Popup editor when you are done.
- 9. Confirm your changes are correct by checking them in the Preview window.
Note: You can double click on an existing popup to edit its properties or change the message.
- 10. Click the global Save button at the top of the page when you are done.
