Using Study Tools
The Study Tools page displays the Cengage textbooks and Adaptive Study products with online materials that you can access through CengageNOWv2. You do not need to be enrolled in a course to use this online content.
It is important to note that work you access as self-study from the Study Tools page is ungraded only and is separate from your graded assignments. However, enabling the Study Tools view on your Grades page allows you to track progress on work you do as self-study.
Note: When available, you may have a Take Assignment or Resume Assignment button that allows you to access assigned Adaptive Study Plans from your Study Tools page. For for more details, see Taking Adaptive Study Plans Assignments
Depending on your course materials, you may have access to any or all of the following:
- Study Tools/Adaptive Study Plans. These assignments provide a customized study plan. You first take a diagnostic quiz (Pre-Test) at the beginning of each section and then receive a Study Plan based on the quiz results. You can then work through the study materials to achieve mastery on the required topics.
- Exercises and Practice Tests. These activities are used to take practice homework and tests online. This helps reinforce learning and prepare you for class assignments and tests.
- eBooks. Textbook reading material is available as an eBook for access and reading online. eBooks are online versions of the textbook, usually in Flash, FlashPaper, or HTML 5 format.
To access Study Tools content
- 1. Click the Study Tools link.
- 2. If necessary, select the desired book or product link from the Textbook dropdown menu.
- 3. Next, choose the content you would like to study, and the page will refresh, displaying the Study Tools content you selected.
