Using Gradebook Analytics Reports
CengageNOWv2 Gradebook Analytics provide you with a detailed overview of your class and students' performance. You can create reports from several different perspectives, which serve to help you quickly find troubled areas or see information on specific objectives in your course. Some reports contain data on global results that allow you to compare assignment data against the national average.
There are two primary types of Analytic reports accessible from the Gradebook page:
Both the class aggregate and student reports allow you to "drill down" to create summaries with increasing levels of detail for assignments, question groups, and items including the ability to filter reports to display data on content related to a specific taxonomy, concept, standard, or objective.
When working with either the class or student level of reports, you use the Choose your report menu to create new reports or return to a preview report. The Choose your report menu supplies links in the dropdown menu and you can use the adjacent "breadcrumb" links. Also, labels and/or names within the report tables themselves can be used to create new reports.
Note: To open a report in a new tab or browser window, right click the link and select the appropriate option. You may find it useful to refer to a report while working elsewhere in CNOWv2.
Reports contain results from qualifying assignments only. Qualifying content is determined by the following conditions:
- The assignment is intentionally submitted by the student, with at least one of the questions completed.
- The assignment is submitted by the passing of the unavailable date, with at least one of the questions completed by the student.
- For assignments with multiple takes, the results used are from those applied to the student's grade (take of record). This is determined by your selection of either Best Score or Last Score the assignment option for Grading > Score Multiple Takes.
- Any options you may use to adjust the final outcome of scores (e.g. Curve Factor, Pass/Fail/Penalties, etc.) do not affect the scores displayed in your Analytic reports.
- When Check My Work has allowed multiple item attempts within a single assignment take, the last submission within the take of record is always used.
Note: For Adaptive Study Plan assignments the record shown in the report is from the most recent main quiz take.
