Using Your Course/Section Created Page
The Course Created or Section Created pages appear as the final step of the process. On the left, these display the general information for your course or section, including the course or section link and instructions for helping your students with the self-enrollment process.
Note: The descriptions below are from the perspective of the course creation process. After a section is created, the links you see on this page are labeled Edit Section Information, Create Another Section, etc.
- 1. Course link. A link containing a unique alphanumeric key code that opens a CengageBrain site set up for students to register in your course or section.
- 2. Student Registration Instructions. This link opens a page of self-registration instructions in a new browser window. Use options to Print, Email, Copy, or Download so you can distribute this information to your students. See Setting Up Student Self-Enrollment for more details.
- 3. Course Name.
- 4. Course Number.
- 5. Course starts on. (date)
- 6. Course ends on. (date)
- 7. Syllabus. (if any) Click the link to view the current syllabus document or web page.
- 8. Sections. (if any) Click the name link to see that section's Section Summary page.
- 9. Instructors.
The right side, the Course Created page displays several helpful links under the Likely Next Step heading. The available actions depend on whether you are viewing a course or section, and if the new course is already populated with assignments:
Create an Assignment.This link takes you to the Assignments page where you can create one or more new assignments for the course. For more information, see Creating and Managing Assignments.
Modify Dates.This link opens the Modify Dates page where you can edit the assignment Available, Unavailable, and Due dates in those courses that are already populated with assignments. For some assignments, you can also determine the display of assignment details, responses, feedback, and scores. (If your course is empty, this option is not displayed.) Create a Section.This link starts the process for creating a section for the current course. For more information, see Creating Course Sections.
Copy Course.This link starts the process for creating a copy of the current course. You can edit the course's name, number, start and end dates, or add a new syllabus as needed. See To manage course and section information for details.
Export Course.This link starts the process to export the current course. For more information, see To export a course.
Edit Course Information.This link opens the Course Information or Section Information page, where you can change the course or section's name, dates, and so on. For more information see Using the Course Information Page.
Return to Course List.This link takes you back to the main Courses page.
