Changing the Assignments Page Display Options
By clicking the Change Information Displayed on This Page link, you can customize the information appearing on the Assignments page table.
As you make changes, you can view the new layout in the Preview area at the bottom of the page. This preview updates dynamically as you change your selections. When you are done, click Save before exiting.
Note: The columns for Course/Section, Status, Available Date, and Due Date are initially displayed by default.
Select to include or exclude the following columns:
Course/SectionDeselect the check box for the Course/Section column, if you prefer not to have it displayed. This column displays the name of the course or section associated with the assignment.
StatusThe Status column displays class progress and grading for the assignment. A legend appearing at the bottom of the Assignments list identifies the icons used for the following status types:
- ° Assigned to Parent Course. This section assignment was set up at the course level.
- ° Unassigned. This assignment that has been taken offline and removed from student view.
- ° Assigned, Not Yet Due. This is a current assignment for which the Due date has not yet passed.
- ° Needs Manual Grading. This assignment contains one or more questions that require manual evaluation and scoring. See Editing Grade Details for information on manually editing scores.
- ° Grading Complete. This assignment has been graded for all students who completed it.
Available DateThe date and time at which the assignment became (or will become) available to students.
Due DateThe date and time by which the assignment must be completed by the student. Assignments submitted past this date can be subject to late penalties.
Taken (# Students)The number of students who have taken the assignment at least once.
Possible ScoreThe top score if the student receives full credit for every question.
Average ScoreThe total score for all students who have taken the assignment divided by the number of students who have taken it.
GradabilityAn indication of whether the assignment is graded automatically in its entirety, includes at least some manual grading, or is not gradable.
CategoriesThe name of the custom Grading Category, for assignments that have been placed in one.
Assignment TypeThe type of assignment: Homework, Test, Reading, Adaptive Study Plans, or External and whether the assignment is required or practice (not for a grade).
Time AllowedThe amount of time available to the student for each take of the assignment.
Takes AllowedThe number of times students can take the assignment.
# of QuestionsThe number of questions and other items in the assignment.
# of StudentsThe number of students in the class or section.
Last Modified DateThe date when the assignment was last edited and saved.
Unavailable DateThe date and time when the assignment can no longer be taken by the student for any amount of credit (as opposed to Due date).
To change the appearance of the Assignments page
- 1. If necessary, click Show All Options on the Assignments page.
- 2. Click the Change Information Displayed on This Page link.
The Assignments Page Display Options page opens.
- 3. Select the check boxes for the columns you want to display, and clear the check boxes for columns you want to hide.
View your results in the Preview pane below the check boxes. The Preview updates automatically. (If you opt to display many columns, you may need to scroll the page horizontally to see them all.)
- 4. When you are done selecting the columns you want to display, click Save.
