Setting Up Student Self-Enrollment

The CengageNOWv2 course link provides the most convenient way to manage enrollment for your course or section. By providing this link in a printed handout or an email, your students have the ability to enroll themselves online. You simply copy the URL to your system clipboard from the Courses page or the Course Created/Summary page to distribute it to your students. See To copy the course link for more details.

You can also email or print the Student Registration Information PDF. This is a document generated by CengageNOWv2 that contains the course link and step-by-step instructions on registering for your course. You can also copy the course link and paste it into your syllabus or other document. Only students who are given the Student Registration Information or course link are able to self-enroll in your course. See To distribute Student Registration Information for more details.

Cengage provides students with a free "trial period" where for a limited time, students can log into and work in your course without purchasing their textbook. Students simply register by using the course link only. The grace period is 1 day per week of course duration, for a maximum of 14 days — beginning on the start date you select when creating your course.

Note: This shortened time period applies only to new courses, older courses will continue to allow a trial period of 3 days per week, for a total of 21 days maximum.

If the trial period deadline should expire before a student has an opportunity to make their purchase, their work is saved, but they cannot access their course. Students can resume the course with the purchase and submission of the course material's Access Code.

Note: Also see Enrollment Overview for information on the manual enrollment and unenrollment of students and instructors.
