Using the CengageNOWv2 Clipboard
The CengageNOWv2 system Clipboard gives you a way to copy, move, or delete a wide variety of items in CengageNOWv2. Depending on the area in which you are working, you can select courses, assignments, or archived materials and place them on the clipboard to be moved to new locations.
Note: When courses and sections are Pasted into a new folder, they lose their enrollment and grade information.
From the Clipboard window that appears, you can perform the following functions.
- Specify items for pasting by selecting or deselecting the adjacent check box.
- If you teach CNOWv2 through multiple institutions, verify you are logged in appropriately before copying and pasting a course into a new location. The copied course is automatically associated with the institution you currently have active in Cengage. See Managing Multiple Institutions for more details.
- Adjust the assignment dates in a course by selecting the option to Adjust all assignment dates based on moving the start date of the first assignment to:, and then using the calendar widget to select a new date and time.
When you paste the course, all assignment dates are set relative to the first assignment's new Start Date. This is an especially useful feature when you are copying and pasting courses with many assignments.
Note: If you opt to skip this step, the assignments inherited from the copied course will retain their original dates. You can later adjust assignment dates individually or in bulk by using the Modify Dates feature on the Assignments page. See Modifying Dates for more details.
- Copying and pasting a section by itself produces a course that is associated with your currently active institution in Cengage.
- If you are pasting assignments into a section, you can select the option to Apply paste action to all sections to add assignment(s) to all sections from the same parent course.
- Click the Paste Selected Items button to place selected items in their new location.
- Clearing the check box for Remove copied items from clipboard when pasted? retains items on the clipboard so you can paste assignments into another course or paste courses into more than one folder.
To delete the assignments from the clipboard, select the check box.
- Click the Delete Selected Items button to remove specific items from the clipboard.
- Click either Cancel or Close Window to close the Clipboard and return to CengageNOWv2 without performing any actions.
Note: The Properties column is currently inactive, however, it is expected to be re-enabled in an upcoming release.
